For Russ og det Allfar!*

After scouring a number of boxes and several cupboards/drawers, I have been able to gather all of my old space marines in preparation for re-assembly/re-assignment as space wolves.

Do I hear you ask why? No? Because reasons, that's why.

Anyhow, I shall now cease talking to myself so that you may bear witness to the majesty/horror of what happens when I attempt to decorate small plastic soldiers.

Spoiler alert, I couldn't be bothered to take any pictures until after I was finished/fed up.

Prey to our Primarch Vulcan He'Stan!

Hi all,

For the tale of gamers I have decided to complete my Salamanders Army. I already had two tactical squads, five man sternguard squad and Vulcan himself.

For my first 500 points I decided to add some fire support to my list with the addition of a squad of Centurions and a landraider redeemer!

I originally went with a purple colour scheme but after some thought and a few pointers in the right direction, opted to revert to the proper Salamander colours.

I plan on using the tale of gamers to add 500 points of Salamanders to complement what I have or to fill a gap in my legion.

Well that's it for now back to painting my redeemer

Imperial guard i mean astra militarum

Here is my first 500points and 3 objectives. still require to finish touching up my stormlords heavy bolter and paint my 3 objectives.

choosing to bring a stormlord for the laugh of having a LoW and give people the chance to kill it, or out wit it. :)

Old One Eye rises again!

With this months challenge coming to completion this Sunday I am sure some frantic painting is going on among the participants.

After realising my Stompa army was not really practical for what we are trying to achieve and with longing looks at Matt's Tyranids I decided to pick up the Tyranid Swarm Box and make my first 500pts out of it.

Below is my first Hormagaunt done to 3 colours for the start of the challenge and also one of my objective markers. Matt suggested last night the shapes around the base should look like worms so I gave it a go.

Turned to the dark side, again!...

So, the call of Chaos has become too strong and i could resist no longer, basically i always wanted the Helldrake and Forgefiend models since becoming interested in 40k a few months ago and now i have two... of each!!!

My Chaos Space Marine 1500 list has been bought and modelled ( yeah i kind of steamed in ) so now its a matter of getting them all painted, so entering the 'Tale of gamers' should be good for me.

The Black Legion is the colour scheme im going for and my list consists of ;

Terminator Lord
5 man Terminator sqaud
10 man Chaos Marine squad
10 man Chaos Marine squad
2 Forgefiends
2 Helldrakes
Aegis Defensive Line with Comms Relay

Here goes...

Sunday 21 September 2014

8 man terminator squad with psycannon nemisis deamon hammer and 6x nemisis gorce falchions:318pts

The Hive Fleet is upon you!

As you all know I have a 'slight' interest in all things gribly, I had intend to do a Space Marine army for ToG but after buying it and starting to build it (and play with the less than half built army) I decided it may be a little too 'elite' to fit this purpose, so after much deliberation (literally about a second) I decided to create a 'small' addition to my Tyranid army and actually paint some models in the process.

My thinking was definitely not another 8 monsters to add into my force and looked at what my current army lacked.  So i decided a Tyranid Swarm box so i had a Carnifex, Hormagaints, Termagaunts and Gargoyles was a good start.  Back this up with 2 Tervigons and 2 Venomthropes (gotta love the cover save) a Mawloc and then a Tyranid prime to lead the army.  Then upon realising i need more gaunts i bought another swarm box with the intention of using the Gargoyles and Gaunts from it.

I figured it all comes in at around £100 per month but i would be left with a Carnifex, 2 warriors and 40 Hormagaunts which i could use to make it into 2000 pts at later date.

So i started today with my 500pts, wish me luck

Before assembly begins :)

Gitgrinda

Well I am doing Orks. Specifically a detachment based on Codex: Orks Waaagh! Ghazghul supplement.

Why you may ask? I was inspired by the new Ork codex when I saw that a Stompa could be taken in a normal game of 40K and not just Apocalypse (yes I know I missed the Escalation book). Discussing with Matt the latest filth army lists we could think of led to the idea of a Stompa sitting on top of a Skyshield Landing Pad to give it a 4++ invulnerable save to shooting. You might want to go and have a quick shower after reading that!

So to make it happen I worked out the minimums to get the super heavy walker on the table. Initially looking at the Ork codex I decided on a Mek as HQ (which turned out to be illegal) and 3 units of grots. So for 120 points of HQ and core I could take a maxed out Stompa at 840. Then came a loot at Mek Gunz. With all the flyers in use it would be nice to knock them out the sky so maxing out on Traktor Kannons seemed the way to go.

The best laid plans of Grots and Orks.

Several Iterations later (including Matt stealing my idea and my Stompa for a few week, till I painted a bit of it hehe).

The epiphany came when I saw in Waaagh! Ghazghul a 4++ invulnerable save Kustom Force Field. I could have my save and stomp stuff too.

So the final list for now:

Big mek with Mega Kustom Force Field

Burna Boys - 3 as Meks
Burna Boyz - 3 as Meks

Grots
Grots

2 x Killa Kanz with Grotzooka's
2 x Killa Kanz with Scorcha's
2 x Killa Kanz with Rokkitlaucha's

The Big Meks and 2 units of Burna Boyz go in the Stompa for a 4++ invulnerable save and 7 Mek Tools repair rolls.

The Grots and Killa Kanz hang around abit till the enemy squishes them.

I am still thinking of dropping the grot riggers and taking a Traktor Kannon just because it is a cool model.

Oh did I mention? Using the detachment from Ghazghul means I have a 1 in 6 chance of getting Deep Strike on the Stompa...

This is Gitgrinda the Stompa - complete with Goff Rokk sound System.

Big models need a big garage.

Fil Gubbins - Da Drumma
Oops I squished an Imperial Knight!

PS My task here really is to get the whole army painted up by December to and to meet the monthly challenges. I hope you are all feeling suitably inspired!

For The Greater Good!

Evening everyone Mitch here,

So here is my current work in progress for LB's ToG

So let's start of with my idea, I wanted a tau army with a desert theme and I always write a balanced list so that I can do the same to one side with the other and split.

Here's my army list for 500points

Commander: shield generator; drone controller; target lock; plasma rifle; marker drone 150

XV104 Riptide: Riptide stimulant injector; ion accelerator 220

6 Fire Warriors: 6× pulse carbine; Fire Warrior Shas'ui 64
6 Fire Warriors: 6× pulse carbine; Fire Warrior Shas'ui 64

498 points

Just thinking of a small elite force I had to take the Riptide.

So here's my work in progress my 6 fire warriors (made from Pathfinders)

See you all soon!

Mitch
